About the Diocese of Central Ecuador

 

The Episcopal Church of Ecuador is constituent member of the Anglican Comunión, that this within the One, Holy, Apostolic Catholic and who maintains and propagates the expressed historical faith and order in Libro de Common Oracio'n. This is in total comunión with the seat of Canterbury and therefore, in Ecuador, it is the only official Church of the Anglican Comunión.
Ecclesiastically it is integral part of the Episcopal Church like misionera diocese; comprising of the Ninth Province next to the dioceses of the Coast, Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Honduras and Puerto Rico.
The origins of the Anglican Church in Ecuador go back at the beginning of 20th century, brought by the workers of an anglian-Ecuadorian oil company, taking shape in a chaplaincy offered from Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was in 1956 when transfer the jurisdiction to the Episcopal Church of the United States that immediately placed it under the Bishop of Panama and soon under the Bishop of Colombia, until in 1970 this got to be a diocese with its own Bishop, the Rvdmo Adrián Cáceres.
